The Religion of the 112th Congress

Pew Research today released the results of their study of the Religious Composition of the 112th Congress. The results are interesting, especially when seeing how congress compares to the American public.

They also have an interesting graphic that breaks down the religion of members of Congress by chamber and by party.

  1. I find it interesting that out of 39 Jewish members of Congress, only one is not a Democrat. This probably speaks volumes about which party platform follows most closely to the Hebrew Scriptures and their treatment of the poor, orphaned, and widowed of today.
